Viewing it as an opportunity to play with family, former University of Buffalo players Greg Gamble and Andy Robinson signed one-year deals with the Buffalo Stampede of the Premier Basketball League. "We are excited to have these players become part of our organization Lesh said."
Gamble, the former Niagara Falls High School star, and Robinson completed their playing careers at UB after last season. The Stampede announced the signings at Alumni Arena, where they enjoyed solid careers.
Gamble, who also works with the organization in the marketing department, was the first to commit before convincing Robinson to join him.
"Greg came to me and told me he was thinking about playing for the PBL team in Buffalo and I should consider joining the team," Robinson said."
" We figured with the success we had at UB, there's no reason we can't bring that same success to the Stampede."
The first game of the season is on Sat. Jan.2nd at Quebec and the first two home games are Sat. Jan. 9th against Rochester ( League Champion) at 7:30pm and Sun. Jan. 10th against Maryland at 2:00pm.
Call the Stampede office at 716-603-9749 for more information.
